Family Photos in Omaha: Locations and How to Book Your Session

Finding the right setting can make all the difference for your family photos. Omaha has a variety of beautiful parks, gardens, and urban spots that bring personality and warmth to your session. I’ve spent time exploring these locations and have a few favorites I often recommend.

My Favorite Locations for Family Photos in Omaha

Memorial Park

One of my personal favorites. Memorial Park offers tree-lined paths, wide open lawns, and a rose garden that creates a timeless backdrop. It’s spacious, easy to access, and perfect for families with kids who want to run around during the session.

Lauritzen Gardens

This 100-acre botanical garden is full of seasonal colors and unique textures. Whether it’s vibrant flowers in spring or rich greenery in summer, Lauritzen Gardens provides a variety of stunning backdrops. A photography fee is required here, but the setting is worth it.

Heartland of America Park

Located near the downtown riverfront, this park offers fountains, walking paths, and a clean city vibe. It’s great for families who want a mix of nature and an urban feel in their gallery.

Lake Zorinsky and Chalco Hills

Both spots are ideal for families who love open skies, rolling hills, and waterside views. These locations offer plenty of room to move, which works well for kids and group shots.

Elmwood Park

Elmwood Park is full of wooded trails, grassy fields, and a creek that adds character to any portrait session. It’s quiet and less crowded, making it easy to relax during your session.

Heron Haven Nature Center

For families who want a peaceful, natural setting, Heron Haven is perfect. The wetlands and boardwalks create unique, scenic photo opportunities.

My Approach to Family Photography

Family sessions should feel easy and natural. I focus on capturing real connections—whether it’s laughter, hugs, or playful moments with the kids. I’ll guide you through simple prompts rather than stiff poses so your gallery feels genuine and timeless.
